    Privacy policy

    Last updated: 5 May 2026 · InkKiln

This policy explains what personal data InkKiln collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. We aim to collect the bare minimum needed to run the site.

    Who we are

InkKiln (inkkiln.co.uk) is the data controller for personal data described in this policy. Contact us at hello@inkkiln.co.uk.

    What we collect

    • Email address if you sign up to the newsletter or download a tool result.
    • Anonymous analytics via Plausible (page views, referrer, country) — only if you consent.
    • Form submissions if you contact us, request a correction, or respond to a consultation.
    • Local storage in your browser for preferences (saved guides, dismissed banners). See our cookie policy.

    Lawful basis

    • Consent — for analytics, the newsletter and any optional cookies.
    • Legitimate interests — for security logs and anti-spam measures.
    • Contract — for fulfilling tool downloads and email signups you request.

    How long we keep it

    • Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.
    • Tool download requests: 24 months, then deleted.
    • Contact form messages: 12 months from last reply.
    • Analytics: aggregated only; no personal identifiers.

    Who we share it with

We use a small number of processors to run the site: a hosting provider, an email sending provider for the newsletter, and Plausible for analytics. We never sell your data and we never share it with sponsors.

    Your rights

    You have the right to:

    • Access the personal data we hold about you.
    • Request correction or deletion.
    • Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.
    • Receive a copy in a portable format.

Email privacy@inkkiln.co.uk and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

    Cookies and local storage

We use one essential cookie for consent state and several local-storage keys for preferences. See the cookie policy for the full list.

    Changes

We update this policy when our practices change. The “last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent material change.
